'Bishkek . . . is the economic and cultural centre of the Kyrgyz Republic.  There are museums, art galleries, theatres, government establishments, shops and markets in Bishkek.  Nearby are the Ala-Archa Natural Reserve Park, the Burana architectural and historical complex, the Krasnoerchka site of an ancient settlement, the sanatoriums with natural mineral springs in the Alamedin and Yssk-Ata gorges.  One day is enough to visit all these places.'
